Thank you for your interest in our church's Family Ministry. At the center of our heart and vision for Family Ministry is building strong families who are committed to Christ. This means we are striving to establish dynamic ministries for students of all ages, resourcing parents to help their kids live out their faith, and helping build healthy marriages. This is where we find the four components of Family Ministry here at Valpo FUMC:

1.  A foundational Children's Ministry

2.  An engaging Youth Ministry

3.  A resource center for Parents

4.  A wellness approach for Marriages

We have multiple tools for families to grow together in their faith and relationships. Here are some of those resources you can find online, or at our @HOME Center, located in our Downtown Valparaiso campus:

  • Appraisal and 120-day plan- You can find the Appraisal and 120-day plan at the @HOME Center of our downtown campus. Appraisals are simply each family's way of evaluating how they’re doing in specific areas. After the evaluation, you have the opportunity to create a 120-day plan on how to improve in those areas. There are appraisals for adults that cover marriage, parenting, and grandparenting. And there are also appraisals for youth and kids.
  • Family Season Pointers- Whether you're married, single, divorced, a grandparent, or a single parent, we have tools to help you navigate this season of your life. Simply find your season and click the image to find practical advice and ideas.
  • Ideas cards- The ideas cards, which we call Recipe Cards, provide you with different ideas for things like family time, date nights, and more. We have cards for kids, teens, couples, and holidays. Recipe Cards can also be found at the @HOME Center of our downtown campus.  
  • Faith Path- Faith Path is a step-by-step process that provides resources to help you foster spiritual disciplines and prepare for key milestones along your child’s faith journey. Click the Faith Path link to find those resources and watch a video that explains Faith Path more deeply. Use the code "myhome2020" to access Faith Path, if prompted to do so.
  • Counseling- We offer free Pastoral counseling to help guide you through some of the hurdles you may face.
  • Groups- From DivorceCare to Financial Peace University to other small groups and support groups, we're here for you. 
  • Family Ministry Podcasts- Audio podcasts relating to the family.
